We were in Edinburgh to see Mary Poppins, at The Festival Theatre, which is JUST ROUND THE CORNER from the hotel (the reason we picked the hotel!). It's also just a 15 minute walk from both Waverley Train Station and also The Royal Mile. We took the train from Inverness, so were wanting somewhere close to the train station, and also The Royal Mile, and this hotel ticked all of those boxes! From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, each and every member of staff we met were so friendly, and couldn't do more to help us. Particular mentions to the new man who just started last week (sorry, didn't get your name, short hair and glasses), who made us feel so very welcome, and also to Ana and her female colleague (sorry didn't get your name), who went above and beyond on Saturday early evening, when my teenage daughter's period arrived suddenly, and we were unprepared! Ana even offered to get her own supplies out of her locker! WOW! Can not rate the staff high enough! The room was very clean, plenty of storage, and a lovely added touch with the card with seeds in it to take home and plant in our garden, thought that was a really good idea! The hotel seem to be doing lots to be as sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible. Breakfast was good too. We enjoyed being in the bar, playing cards each evening, there was a nice relaxed atmosphere. Only one small negative point, and that there was no 'make-up' mirror in the bathroom, my eyes aren't as good these days, so struggled a little, but that is a really minor point! Would definitely recommend this hotel, and when we're next in Edinburgh, would definitely stay here again!

Within walking distance to main attractions and bus stops and many outlets Free wifi which was easy to connect Lidl and Saisburys supermarket literally around corner and a kfc and other takeaways University, surgeon museum (small cost but amazing) literally next door and Scotland National museum 2 mins walk away. To walk to the royal mile it’s approximately 5-7 mins walk Hotel has a nice attractive foyer Shower over bath was ideal, toiletries and towels provided Iron, ironing board, hair dryer, kettle with hot choc, tea and biscuits provided Mugs, glasses also provided. The off set dressing table and chair was positioned in right place. Pull out flat screen Tv was fab. AC was spot on Luggage storage on checking out day was perfect and free

The receptionist was so helpful. I was not happy with the window-view room that was given when I entered the room. Looking out to a building with boarded up windows! I went and spoke to the receptionist who explained that as I requested a high floor in a quiet area with a view, the hotel could not meet all my requests.(Fair enough comments.) She did then offer two other rooms. One was perfect, with a beautiful view, but it was right next to the lift! Did I hear any internal noise, lifts opening and shutting, banging of doors, loud next door occupants? Not at all! I can honestly say one of the quietest rooms we have ever stayed in. My partner loved the fact we came out of the door and were near the lift, just perfect!

I liked the size of the room as it was spacious and was very clean. The bed was super comfortable and provided an excellent night's rest. The bathroom was very clean and had the necessary toiletries. I especially liked the proximity of the hotel to many tourist attractions. It was also close to many restaurants and gift shops. Some attractions were as close as a 7 minutes walk away from the hotel walking at a relatively slow pace. The staff was very courteous and even provided information on options for attractions to visit. The hotel was very cozy. I would recommend this hotel to solo, business and family travelers.

A 3 minute walk away from The Pleasance, the hotel is also just around the corner from many, many restaurant options and a short walk away from all the main Edinburgh sites, museums, and Waverly train station. The in-room wifi was extremely fast and reliable, and the flat screen TV had plenty of options. Room service delivered quickly and was high quality. The bar on the main floor was always open for espresso at any hour, and my room was quiet and bed comfortable. I would stay here again.
